The conversations on diversity and inclusion in the workforce are getting more intense. Given the cultural, national, and geo-political climate, the dialog is timely and much needed. Many companies are adopting practices to increase diversity and inclusion in their workforce. These practices range from recruitment and retention efforts, to incentive and reward programs. Less emphasis is paid to the top-down culture in the company. While shattering the glass ceiling is often a metaphor used for change from the bottom, the glass ceiling can also be moved from the top. There is as much need for conversations and training in the board room and the C-suite on recognizing issues that hinder diversity and training in the company.
